There's nothing going on there.
(Opening Theme / Closing Credits Music) Episode 1 “Stick or Twist” Deeper Underground – Jamiroquai & Don Diablo Firestarter – The Prodigy Episode 2 “Jigsaw Puzzle”Dark Days – Yard Act gy Episode 3 “Plan B”Dark Days – Yard Act Episode 5 “Funeral for a Friend”People Ain’t No Good – Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds
"Antwerp Blues""The Crossroads""Helter Skelter""Beggars Banquet""The Beast In Me"(这个me是Harry吧?
Tom Hardy can be very persuasive. In Taboo, people did what he said because he’d growled something intimidatingly gothic at them; in Locke, they knew he’d only phone back later if they didn’t give in; in the Kray brothers biopic Legend, there were two Tom Hardys and they were both holding claw hammers. Whenever he’s the celebrity reader on CBeebies Bedtime Stories, meanwhile, half of the adults watching wouldn’t need any persuading. The idea that a Tom Hardy character cajoling, threatening or influencing someone is an art form in itself is the core of MobLand, a decent new gangster epic that casts Hardy as top fixer Harry Da Souza. Harry works for the Harrigans, the Irish clan who dominate the London drugs and guns scene, but who are prone to excess and perhaps not as savvy as they once were. Their charming, clinical lieutenant Harry cleans up their messes.Problem one in episode one is that spoiled wild child Eddie Harrigan (Anson Boon) has been on a bender which ended with the stabbing of a geezer in a nightclub – “I gave him a plunge,” says Eddie, his voice too plummy to pull off hardman vernacular – and which could cause the perennial tension between the Harrigans and cockney crime dynasty the Stevensons to develop into a properly naughty war. Harry has to bring Eddie to heel, placate enemy kingpin Richie Stevenson (Geoff Bell), and either sweet-talk or scare witnesses to the knifing, according to whether he wants them to share information or keep stumm. Then he ambles back to his luxury Thames-view apartment, where his neglected wife, Jan (Joanne Froggatt), demands he sign up for couples counselling – but before she can finish her list of grievances, Harry’s phone goes off and he’s reporting for duty again.Hardy’s charisma here is made of confidence and competence: Harry is a guy whose strong hands sort things out. “If I say I’m going to do something,” he says, when his reliability is questioned, “it gets done.” MobLand’s writer/creator Ronan Bennett is interested in organised crime as a business that runs on common sense and people management: while the Harrigans make the big decisions, the workaholic Harry liaises with their industry’s toothless regulator (the police), disciplines errant staff members and implements the odd, rather sudden, redundancy. Harry is essentially a resourceful, well-connected executive, so Hardy gives him a penetrating articulacy, only occasionally flecked with the rough grit Harry must have had in his days as a foot soldier.“Right now, I am in first gear,” says a gun-wielding Harry to two toerags who think they’re hard enough to not do what he tells them. Hardy delivers the punchline – “Would you like to see me shift to sixth?” so calmly that he’s barely audible, which is awfully close to hilarious. But Bennett and Hardy are willing to lean in to Harry’s comic potential, as when he tells another small-time crook what will happen if he crosses the Harrigans: “I, or possibly one of my associates, depending on my availability, will find you.”The Harrigans are fun, too. There’s the boss, Conrad, a wax-jacketed nouveau aristocrat who spits on his hands and claps when he receives good news, or murders people when he doesn’t. What may be mistaken for an erratic performance by Pierce Brosnan is an attempt to embody a dangerously erratic man. Then there’s the real boss, Conrad’s omniscient wife, Maeve (Helen Mirren), and their son Kevin (Paddy Considine), Eddie’s dad, whose missing ruthless streak means he’s constantly professionally cuckolded by Harry, who is not blood but is the favoured child. If MobLand sounds like a more sophisticated take on the cartoon gangster shenanigans of a Guy Ritchie film, that’s what it is: Ritchie directs the first two episodes. You expect either to dismiss a new Ritchie project as crass twaddle, or to quietly chide yourself for enjoying something that probably is crass twaddle, but has been made with enough mischief and flair for you to stop fussing and have a good time. This, however, isn’t in either category.Ritchie’s direction is … pretty good. Accomplished. Smooth. He flexes various muscles he has built up in previous work, as he takes us to old-school boxing gyms and flat-roofed Isle of Dogs boozers, gentleman’s clubs and Cotswolds estates. We’re tasting jellied eels in one mouthful and caviar in the next, the point being that successful criminals often achieve a level of wealth they were not born to handle.Aside from that, and some indications that Maeve’s power comes from having learned to weaponise the dark perversities of the men in her life, there’s not much of the psychological depth that a premium mob saga runs on. But if you ever start thinking MobLand isn’t worth your time, Tom Hardy will be along shortly to convince you otherwise.PS3 第五集的Maeve太疯了。
There’s a fair bit of blood. Not everyone is who they say they are. And there’s a particular rat in the pack. There’s quite a few surprises. All the scripts were consistent with what you’ve already seen. If anything, the writing gets stronger. And there’s an introduction of a particular character who alters the landscape. But don’t trust any of them.
How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Tom Hardy (The star of the Venom movies and Mad Max: Fury Road was supposed to be the next Brando. He’s turned out to be something else entirely.) https://slate.com/culture/2025/04/tom-hardy-havoc-mobland-venom-movies-netflix.html MobLand is a show about compartmentalization, about how getting in bed with evil prevents you from ever being your full self. It thus requires a lead performance that is a simmering pot, never quite at full boil. Harry is always pretending he’s OK. In one scene, he’s like a charming little boy trying to dodge a fight with his wife, and in another, while shaking down a witness, he’s the most dangerous man you’ve ever met. Harry can turn that danger on or off like a table lamp, using subtle changes in tone of voice and physical presence. The whole performance is as intricate as the wrinkles in Hardy’s forehead, in a way that a more conventional star would’ve probably not bothered with. MobLand is compulsively watchable, but beyond its performances (the great Paddy Considine and Downton Abbey’s Joanne Froggatt do excellent work as well), it’s pretty shallow. By taking the role seriously, even though it’s for a work of popcorn entertainment, he both anchors and deepens the show. The same is true for Havoc, which, if you like your action grim and relentless, will suit your fancy. Yeah, he does the eye thing, but watch closely, and you’ll see that he’s developed a total physicality for the role of Walker, one in which he is always listing slightly to the right, and somehow manages to lumber and move with ginger hesitancy at the same time, indicating a body that has taken its share of hits over the years. I think Bella finds fun and almost a reprieve in Harry. They share wit and humor. Look, I'm not sure whether she emotionally or physically wants to get involved with Harry, but she has a lot of fun poking at the bear. It's a bit cat and mouse-y, a bit of just pushing boundaries. I think she's a bit sick of the identity, and the place that she's been in for quite a while, and it's almost like she's rebelling, and just flexing her muscles and seeing what avenues she can explore. 汤老师语录:“I have been an actor for quite a while now. I’m old. It’s okay though because I always wanted to play the characters when I was younger that I’m the age to play now - and now, I want to be young again.” When asking Hardy about his own acting method today, he said, “Oh, I don’t have a method. I’ve studied so many methods - so many - that you take a little bit from everything. Ultimately, the fundamental that I have, if anything, is Do I like this? What do I like about it? and ask questions. Get to know the people I’m working with on it, especially the writer, the director. Get right in the middle of the weeds with them and understand what is it that you want to say, because I can create and conjure.” He added: “You take what works for you and everybody’s different - in the same way I wouldn’t advise another actor how to do something. It’s not my business. It’s a language - any method necessary. If anything, I’ve refined that to just the joy of storytelling.”He added about his current mindset towards acting: “Sometimes, it’s not a question of going out there and doing like, I did the greatest performance of my life! It’s not that anymore. That was a young Tom - that doesn’t really matter in the same way. What matters are the choices that I’m making. Do they work with other people? Can I still go for things that I’m excited to go for, that are a challenge, while also still meeting the requirements within the team, as well?”Regarding the evolving landscape of the film and television industry, Hardy said, “I’ve noticed patterns or things move from shooting on film to digital to streamers. Post-Covid, I’ve noticed the sort of changes in genres that have been popular. The changes in chasing the tax - like cutbacks. What countries we’re going to then? Where do we hire crews from? It’s these patterns, but it further immerses one in the industry of going, I’m a functioning part of that, which is something I’m really grateful for. I never really chased wanting to be a celebrity or be famous or anything like that. I love working. If I don’t work, I love doing jiu-jitsu. I will find fun in what I do. I’m curious and I want to be part of and useful and serve a purpose.”“There is a part of me that’s gone back to the drawing board. New starts - I think there’s a return to what’s important of why I started, what I can do now. This is a generational thing, so an acting career shouldn’t stop just because you’re 50 now. It’s about recalibration and laying the track down for things that are meaningful and have purpose. And if not, don’t do them - don’t do anything. Just let it go. Some things are more important than just doing for the sake of doing, you know?”关于与塞隆的不和(只看Mad Max是很难想象的,片中俩人完成度太高了,结尾的眼神戏真好):Hardy admitted that he'd been 'over my head in many ways' at the time, adding: "What she needed was a better, perhaps more experienced partner in me... That's something that can't be faked. I'd like to think that now that I'm older and uglier, I could rise to that occasion."
Jan Da Souza and Bella Harrigan also came face to face for the first time under awkward circumstances. This not only gives audiences a different dynamic to up the ante, but also allows these two actors time to lock horns. There is an emotional rivalry and latent love triangle between them and Harry, which deepens this melodrama and proves “Antwerp Blues” is about more than a diamond deal.
There’s a shootout, though Harry misses it. Hardy’s face is covered by a motorcycle helmet for half the episode as he rushes to collect the sibs; he may not have even been on set."
Ever since he permanently changed the face of screen acting, at least one actor has emerged with each passing generation who earns comparisons to Marlon Brando, for better or worse… Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, and Jack Nicholson are three that instantly come to mind, and while the trio are definitely among the all-time greats, none of them would dare suggest they could even dream of lacing up Brando’s boots. They each possessed similar traits, though, and his status as the measuring stick ensured his name would always be invoked… For a 21st century counterpoint, most people would be quick to point to Tom Hardy.
He combines the inner intensity of Brando with the outer expressiveness of a Charles Laughton."Vogue搞的这个也够搞笑,尽管是2014年的。
Has MobLand Been Renewed For Season 2?Nope, but hang tight. Hardy has been teasing plans for the Harrigans and Harry to go “international” to continue for “more seasons,” as he told Hollywood Reporter:“The plan is definitely to see more seasons. The question is: Does it become international? There are international elements to organized crime, which are touched on in season one and the control of drugs and ammunition and weapons and people and all kinds of things that go through Europe and from Africa through to South America, Pakistan and the variable commodities that move around Europe. There are families that are involved in each European country that are vying for power to have that status to be able to move these kind of commodities through and who polices that and how that fits into a world stage.”
Screen Rant最新的这篇剧评骂得又狠又搞笑,https://screenrant.com/mobland-season-1-episode-7-review/ "Hey don't worry, we'll get to these plots soon! Just as soon as we figure out what we're doing in the main story!"
Just to get a job is pretty cool. I’ve far exceeded my expectations. I just came to deliver a pizza and I’m doing pretty well.
Kevin
